Jayde Kief- Creator, “Daughter”

Jayde Kief (she/her)

is a dance artist, educator, and director based in Chicago. Trained in Los Angeles, she choreographed and performed for two seasons with The Wallis Studio Ensemble in Beverly Hills, San Diego, and Arezzo, Italy. Since relocating to Chicago in 2020, her focus has shifted toward dance education while continuing to create work inspired by her inner world. She is fascinated with the mystical, rituals, and archetype. Her movement practice is rooted in nervous system regulation, sustainable movement, and anatomy exploration. She made her directorial debut with WO.MUN at RhinoFest 2024, led two iterations of the audience-participatory performance Movementum, and is currently developing a new multimedia performance work, Creator.

Christa Asha Ciesil- Voice, “Spirit”

Christa Asha Ciesil (she/her)

is an artist wielding Asha as the medium. She is a vocalist, songwriter, actress, and baby bassist/harmoniumist/vocal looper based in Chicago. Perhaps this piece is where her looping enters toddlerhood! A lifetime of finding comfort and deepening her knowledge of the Self through vocal play has led her to appear in numerous musical and theatrical projects throughout the city, including in her band Only the Middle. She gives major kudos to the city of New York (where she graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts) for facilitating her artistic adolescence. The wording of this bio makes her smile as it represents her ever-present fascination with the life cycle, as does her daytime work as a speech-language pathologist and aspirations to become a doula. She’s most excited when performance departs outside of her mind and the spirits take over.

Rachel Hartmann- Puppet, “Mother”

Rachel Hartmann (she/they)

is a stilt walker, puppeteer, and scenic carpenter based in Chicago, IL. They are the co-director of Rabbitfoot Puppetry and have collaborated with companies including The Center for Puppetry Arts, Electric Forest, the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival, and The Paperhand Puppet Intervention. Rachel’s work incorporates elements of clowning, with a strong emphasis on character movement and visual design into their stilt walking and puppetry. Through their craft, they aim to draw audiences into unfamiliar worlds—inviting them to believe in the unimaginable. For Rachel, this act of shared belief is the true essence of performance.

Kade Kozak – Electric Guitar

Kade Kozak (he/him)

is a guitarist from Kenosha, Wisconsin who has been playing for the past 14 years. Inspired early on by psychedelic music, he’s always been drawn to sounds that make someone question what’s happening—in the best way possible. When he’s not performing, Kade works at a music shop, where his love for music continues long after performing. Thank you to everyone who came out to be part of this production, and enjoy the show.
